Hi, I’m Bogi.

I’m an ex Marketing & Advertising executive, a TEFL-qualified English teacher, a British-Hungarian citizen and mum of a bilingual toddler.

Having lived and worked in London for over a decade, I moved back to Hungary in 2024. I decided to get into teaching English so I’ve completed my teacher training at The TEFL Org and set up Three Rivers Language School to help people speak English with more confidence.

I’m now based in Gyor, where I offer face-to-face English lessons, as well as online lessons (directly or on Preply), group courses and Business English coaching.

My Approach

it’s all about you

Every student has different backgrounds, motivations, strengths and weaknesses, learning style, and so on. I want to know what you want to get out of learning English, and I will make sure that you get there in a way that works best for you.

100% English

We’ll use English throughout the entire lesson, even if you and I both speak Hungarian. That’s how native speakers learn the language from a young age!

If you choose me, you’ll learn how British people speak: not just what they say and how, but what they really mean.

let’s have some fun

Terrified of grammar? Bored of tests? Don’t worry, learning English doesn’t have to be scary, boring or dry. Based on what you enjoy doing in your everyday life, I’ll design lessons that you find fun and engaging, so you won’t even notice that you’re learning.

My qualifications and experience

  • BA in International Communications (Budapest Business School, 2008)

  • Account Manager at Budapest-based advertising agencies Republic Group and Grey (2008-2012)

  • Account Director at AMV BBDO London, one of the UK’s most awarded advertising agencies (2012-2018)

  • Marketing Officer at Friends of the Earth, the UK’s biggest grassroots environmental campaign organisation

  • Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate (The TEFL Org, 2024)

  • Proud mum of a bilingual toddler (since 2022)

MY story - and what motivates me

I’ve always loved English and I learnt it throughout my school and university years. After graduating, I was excited to use English when I first started working in Budapest.

But when I landed my dream job at a London-based advertising agency and moved to the UK, I suddenly didn’t feel so confident about my English. I kept double-checking emails before hitting send and googling expressions I’d never heard of. For months, I felt like there were 2 versions of my personality: ‘Hungarian Bogi’ and a much less interesting ‘English Bogi’ who couldn’t really express herself.

I believe the Hungarian school system gave me great foundations but did not prepare me for real life in an English speaking country. Does this resonate?

I’m grateful for the education I got, but as an English teacher I want to offer more to my students, using my knowledge and experience that I gathered over the 12 years I lived in London.

English is the easiest and the most difficult language at the same time: it’s easy to learn the basics but it gets trickier as you get better, especially if you want to speak fluently. That’s where I can help: I will teach you how English is spoken by native speakers, so you can be confident that you’ll understand others and make yourself understood. I can also give you the time and space to use English and practice talking: sometimes that’s all you need to feel more confident!
